The Farnborough Jets YBC plays every Saturday morning at S Bowl from 9am to 11:30. We have been based here since the bowling alley was added to the leisure centre in 2004.  In addition to local residents from the Farnborough, Fleet and Camberley areas, we welcomed players and coaches from Basingstoke YBC when it stopped running, and more recently players from other YBC who have enjoyed our supportive environment.

We currently have 30 regular members who play a League format in two Divisions based on a threshold game average of around 120. Our mission is to run a club which  thrives on a friendly and supportive environment for player ages ranging from 6 to 21 learning and competing harmoniously as individuals and in team events.

The Jets nickname is a reference to Farnborough being the historic UK home of aviation, hosting the first powered flight in the UK by Samuel F Cody in 1908 and more recently home of the world famous Farnborough International Air Show. Our YBC Teams will typically use famous aircraft as the team names in competitions, e.g. Harriers and Typhoons.

Our club has always been very successful at sending a large squad to the South of England and Junior Nationals competitions. In the 2017 SOE, 15 of our 27 players won at least one trophy. We have many players representing Surrey and Hampshire at U15 and U18 County competitions, some of whom also have competed for England in the Junior Triple Crown.

We currently have 2 girls and 3 boys attending the England Junior Academy where they receive dedicated instruction on bowling mechanics and mental preparation from National Coaches. Several of our older members are progressing to complete their own Coaching qualifications and will continue to play and coach in the YBC. Our YBC has also helped several students to achieve credits for their Duke of Edinburgh
